I read somewhere that most people can recognize dozens of companies' logos, but can only name a few types of local birds. In the spring of 2011, I began watching the migrating warblers and other birds from my window. This led me to ask how many bird species - and which ones - I see in a year.

January 25-26 / the snow
It's been snowing. Not a large amount, but enough.
Common birds: cardinal (male), downy woodpecker (female)
