June 27 / the peas

My little peas, which I kept in a pot on the deck this year, are blooming, and forming their first few peas.  Last year I got some to grow, but something(s), I think the starlings, ate nearly all of them.  The arugula lettuce is also blooming.  Among the birds today, I saw the woodpecker, and pair of red-wings.

Common birds: house sparrow, robin, starling, grackle, cardinal (male), downy woodpecker (female)

Summer visitors: red-wing blackbird (pair)
