June 3 / the swallowtail

I was standing just a few feet in front of our irises earlier, and watched a swallowtail butterfly land on them.  It didn't stay long, but it was lovely. It's been sunny, breezy, and cooler.  I haven't been outside as much either, but it did seem the bird activity was a little quieter. 

Common birds: cardinal (pair), house finch, robin, house sparrow

Spring visitors: red-wing blackbird (male), brown headed cowbird (female)
