My cat was very 'brave' today, and decided to go for a walk around the garden. She likes hiding among the plants in the beds, even though she isn't really 'hunting' anything like some cats. Later this afternoon, the red-wing blackbird perched on the top of one of the spruce trees, but only for a minute. We have a burr-like weed growing in a couple of places, which I have identified - I think - as yellow avens (Geum aleppicum), a native wild plant.
Common birds: house sparrow, cardinal (pair), robin, starling
Spring visitors: brown headed cowbird (male), red-wing blackbird (male)
